Well-known on the pub circuit around Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and London, Bacchus is a fun-packed rock and roll machine. From Rob's searing 'Whammer Jammer' harmonica wail, through Steve Carter's jangling mandolin and Stevie B's virtuous piano to the biting, melodic twin- and triple-guitar harmonies that make 'Jessica' so instantly recognisable, you get an unshakeable sense of a band of multi-instrumentalists in possession of a full (and fresh) set of strings.
Gigs are a crowd-pleasing mix of covers and originals with instant appeal - whilst the band's recorded work focuses on home-grown material. Rob takes the main song-writing credits, with contributions from Toby and Steve in the mix as well. 'Seize the Day', dedicated to Band heroes Jim Morrison, Duane Allman and Berry Oakley, is the current Bacchus album release. Covers are typically sourced from a wide range of classic acts like the Stones, the Doors, Santana, J. Geils, the Allman Brothers and Bryan Adams.
